Just come down to a conference in Portsmouth and nearest hotel was this one. Great hotel, good rates and staff very friendly. Easy parking, just what you want when you come to a city for business. Very clean and pleasant rooms. Certainly will be using this one again.

My husband and I booked to stay overnight at the Hampshire Court Hotel then read the bad review that has been posted on this site.It worried us,but we decided to stay there anyway.I am pleased we did.The hotel was spotless, our room was very comfortable and the proprietor made us feel very welcome. We had to leave early in the morning to catch a ferry and he very kindly made our breakfast a bit earlier so we would not be late. It is somewhere I would definitely stay again and would have no hesitations recommending to my friends

Just to add, another great visit. They now have a website www.hampshirecourthotel.co.uk . Would recommend the hotel, just what you are looking for, customer service from people that care.
We where looking for a hotel with character and we found it, Hampshire Court Hotel comprises of three Georgian Officers town houses. With the Georgian stairs and one door with the Lion Motiff, its a real treasure trail.
Had a great stay, loads of different rooms to choose from, rather than the bog standard box's you are normally given. We went for the family room, which had a real bath in the ensuite.
The owner of the Hotel cooked us a full English Breakfast each morning, set us up for the day. I only wish there was more of these family run businesses in the sea of blandness we have come to expect.

My family and I stayed on two separate occasions at this homely hotel in Portsmouth. The place is quiet and quite cozy. The owner, Barry and Sharon were the ultimate host and hostess. The rooms were clean and most importantly, there is no one to disturb you day or night. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Portsmouth on a budget. We would definitely be staying here anytime we visit Portsmuth
