We arrived to the hotel and was given a room which was walking 200-300 yards round a back road and opposite the room was open black bins.
The room was located on third floor and unfortunately the hot water was also not working.
The floor carpet was full of dirt and the mattress was ripped.
When making the booking on Bookings.com, it said clearly park available and not bookings required.
We had to park my car on single yellow line.
Unfortunately my family were very upset and we came back to the reception.
The lady at the reception was alone and she was too busy answering phone calls.
After waiting over 10 minutes she told us I have to email the manager for refund.
She told me the manager does not work at the premise and his name DAVID CATER.
My credit card has been blocked for 1 night stay and they also have taken payment for two full nights.
A VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Then told we would be staying 'round the back' , where we were taken down an alley full of rubbish to a 3rd floor flat. As there is alot to talk about here, I have broken everything down into what we liked and what we didn't like to explain my rating. Things we did like :Nice size room, separate tap for drink facilities from bathroom, bathroom was reasonably nice, able to park car right next to the room, Things we didn't like : The front door is DIFFICULT TO OPEN AND SHUT. If I did not have my stronger partner with me, I would have been stuck outside. How is this safe?!?!, the carpet on the steep stairs was pulling up and no hand rail, HOW IS THIS SAFE?!?, the room was NOTHING like those shown on booking.com, the carpet was filthy in the room as were the bed bases, the mattresses of the two single beds were appallingly uncomfortable, worst mattresses I've ever lay on as they sink, there was no tv remote in the room and had to walk up the alley in the dark to collect one from reception, noise from trains was so loud we kept being woke up by the despite all the windows being shut (with a sore back due to terrible mattress), went down for breakfast and several members of staff were smoking at the entrance so had to walk my son through a puff of smoke, breakfast room is very small, sat my son on only free table and went to get him some cereal, no bowls or spoons, I told a member of staff this who huffed and went to get me one spoon and one bowl even though there were three of us not to mention none for anyone else, no plates for hot food, took the cereal to my son who had been joined by a random woman, at this point we were so angry that we got up and left to check out. I am now happily enjoying my mcdonalds breakfast. Was going to complain but had driven my car around the front to drop key off and only receptionist was on the phone, I dropped my key to her and left.We stayed here so that we could be closer to London for an event the next day, overall, staying at this hotel was a poor start to our time away and we would not return again.
